Flying Dutchman Alpacas is owned and run by Vince and Amanda VandenBosch. They having a combined total of over twenty years of experience in breeding, raising and marketing of livestock. Together they share a passion for raising, showing, teaching and selling quality alpacas and fiber combined with an enjoyable lifestyle and wonderful friends.
How we got here!
Vince VandenBosch
Vince is the "Flying Dutchman!" He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology, a 100-TON Master License and a Multi-Engine Commercial Pilots License, and has a true love for flying and alpacas. Vince met his first alpaca in Washington State and was memorized with their beauty an investment qualities. He purchased his first alpacas in 1994 and later that year met Amanda at the National Alpaca Conference in Estes Park, Colorado. Vince decided to move to California where Flying Dutchman Alpacas was founded, and operated for 15 years. In 2008 Flying Dutchman Alpacas moved to Bend, Oregon.Vince is in charge of all Ranch details and pasture management.
Amanda VandenBosch
Amanda has always had a devotion for animals. Growing up with horses and raising many different kinds of livestock, from hedgehogs to horses, llamas and her ultimate love the alpaca, she truly appreciates the beauty of an animal! Amanda holds a National Diploma in Stud Management from The National Stud in England. Awarded a scholarship gave Amanda the opportunity to travel to Australia, spending the next three years working dual breeding seasons in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, where she gained invaluable experience in breeding, raising and marketing livestock internationally.
Amanda is a Senior AOBA Alpaca Halter, Fleece and Performance Judge and an International Alpaca Judge and Judge Trainer. Amanda helped develop the British Alpaca Society training program and certified the British Alpaca Judges. She also has worked as an Advisor for the New Zealand Alpaca Association. Amanda has volunteered on many committees within AOBA, JAC Judges Advisory Committee, Past CALPACA President and is actively involved in the AOBA Judges Training Program. Amanda also has a private consulting service and travels the US and Worldwide judging and giving hands on workshops and clinics. Amanda has judged shows in USA, Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.

In 2004 we joined forces with Brian and Chris Wicks of Bear Creek Alpacas to form Flying Dutchman Alpacas, LLC. Together we continue to breed the best quality alpacas, both huacayas and suris, with our commitment to world class care and services!

years later, in the summer of 2006, is Cody at 4 3/4 years of age with Miss Gabriella's
latest daughter. Now that's impressive!!!
